Many of you may be planning a road trip, short or long, for the holidays.  While you’re driving, consider listening to another roadtrip across the country to learn about the JUNTOS 4-H program.  All the states are great, but WI can be found in Part II here

OR, maybe you’ve got your 2022 calendar ready and are already making plans for some virtual education.  Read about two opportunities below. 

Are you enrolled in projects in animal sciences? 

If so, plan to register for Animal Sciences Virtual Education Series with upcoming sessions starting at 7:00 p.m. on the second Thurs. of each month (Jan.-May)! 

These sessions will provide awareness and knowledge of animal agriculture and careers that are associated with the session topic.

Session dates and topics are:

Jan. 13, Animal Health & Welfare

Feb. 10, Precision Agriculture

March 10, Food Safety

April 14, Land & Water

May 12, Biomedical Advances 

These sessions are offered by the Wisconsin Youth Livestock Program (WYLP), UW-Madison Animal & Dairy Sciences Department, UW-Madison College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and UW-Madison Division of Extension.

Exploring One of Wisconsin’s Most Important Industries–Mining!

Are you in 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th grade?

If your answer is, “Yes,” you are invited to explore one of Wisconsin’s most important industries–mining! During the virtual eight-session program, members will learn about how our society is dependent on mining and minerals as well as the many career paths available!

The sessions are scheduled from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wed. of each month, starting Jan. 12 and ending April 20. Curriculum will be provided free of charge.
