Sediment Clean up update:

• The US EPA awarded the contract to begin construction on the Phase 2 sediment clean-up and habitat restoration work. The name of the firm is Environmental Quality Management. They will have several subcontractors working on the project.
• The contractors are planning on moving construction trailers, equipment and preparing the land starting in early to mid-October. Land based facilities and land clearing activities will be the initial focus of the work. Water based activities should be starting in November.
• The current schedule has sediment removal actions completed in early 2015, but as work progresses, the schedule is subject to change. We will keep you updated on major changes to the schedule.
• While there may be some interruptions to travel on the Milwaukee River Parkway, we do not anticipate long-term closures of the parkway.
