Welcome to all new and returning Dane County 4-H Horse & Pony project members.
The 2022 4-H Horse and Pony Education Clinics are now open for registration. These opportunities are free and available for all Horse and Pony Project Members, not just those who are interested in showing at the Dane County Fair. All Clinics will be held at the Alliant Energy Center, Pavilion #1, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI 53713
For those interested in showing at the Dane County Fair, attending at least one hour (or session) of education at one of these clinics is required. Youth are encouraged to attend more than one clinic if interested.

For youth interested in showing at the 2022 Dane County Fair:
Review the 2021-2022 Horse & Pony Education Requirement Information in detail.
- 2022 Horse and Pony Online Safety Clinic – All members Grade 3 or higher are required to attend a Dane County 4-H Horse and Pony Education Safety Orientation clinic once prior to showing at the Dane County Fair. Members who have successfully completed a safety orientation in prior years do not need to repeat the training. Youth who are not able to attend the March 12 in-person training due to illness or conflict will need to complete the Online Safety Clinic Training.
- Youth interested in showing at the Dane County Fair are required to attend at least one of the in-person clinics listed above with their animal and complete the Dane County Fair 2022 Horse and Pony Education Requirement Card. See education card submission information below.
Private lessons, farrier appointments, vet appointments do not count toward the educational requirement.
Education Card Submission Information
Dane County Fair 2022 Horse and Pony Education Requirement Card – Print the card, bring the card with you to the education clinics and complete all sections of the Education Card. When completed and ready to upload to the online portal, save as LastName.FirstName.Species (Ex.Clover.Chris.Horse).
How and when to submit education requirements:
- To qualify to show at the Dane County Fair with 4-H, FFA or other Dane County youth organization, youth exhibitors must meet species education requirements and submit proof by June 15, 2022 at 11:59pm by using the EDUCATION REQUIREMENT UPLOAD PORTAL. No late entries accepted.
- **Access to a Google Account is required to upload documents in the portal. This helps keep documents secure. Youth can utilize their school account or utilize a family account. If the youth does not have access to a Google Account, please email 4Hinfo@countyofdane.com for an alternative option.
- If showing in more than one species, youth must complete and submit the requirements for each species.
- To upload the education card, please save the document as a JPG, TIFF, or PDF. Youth can take a picture of the education card to upload.
- Contact the species Education Committee Chairperson listed to receive approval for educational opportunities not listed.
