UW-Madison Extension Dane County will be holding four free virtual education sessions for nonprofit leaders this spring. These sessions are introductions to the topic and to tools that can be used in planning activities, initiatives, or programs. There will be time at each session for participants to share their own experience with each of the topics or tools.
Sessions are from 9:00 – 10:00am on the fourth Wednesday of each month from April – July, 2022. (the May session has been postponed until June 8)
The zoom room will remain open until 10:30am for conversation among participants.

Session 1: April 27, 2022. Issue Identification, Needs Assessment & Asset Mapping: Before you launch a new program or initiative, it’s important to do some background research, strategizing, and assessment. Is your issue internal to your community or related to broader systems and power structures? Who else is working on the issue? What strategies and organizational capacities will you need to build in order to effectively address the issue? This session will introduce tools for issue identification, needs assessment, and asset mapping.
