Halloween has evolved from an occasion focused primarily on children into a major holiday event celebrated throughout the U.S. by both children and adults.
A survey by the National Retail Federation (NRF) reveals that U.S. consumers spent an estimated $6 billion on Halloween candy, costumes and decorations in 2010. According to the NRF survey, $1.8 billion was spent on Halloween candy and $800 million on children’s costumes last year.
