Zoom Training Information

For UW-Madison Division of Extension employees only, taking at least one hour-long training session from an ETS staff member is necessary to obtain a Zoom Pro Account. The training offerings include several different topic choices. 

Training Information:

A limited number of training sessions are currently scheduled.  Please read below and decide which training type(s) you would like to attend.  Sessions have participant limits.  Once you have decided which type of training you prefer, go to the EdTech Calendar and sign up for a session that works best for your schedule.

Zoom During Disruptive Events In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Educational Technology Support is hosting emergency Zoom training. Participants will learn techniques and strategies for planning and presenting their programming via Zoom in place of in-person programming.

Prerequisites:

  • A working camera and headset preferred
  • Previously taken one of our regular training sessions: tech, meetings, or webinar. (but not required)

Zoom Tech Training

It’s the nuts and bolts behind the bells and whistles. This 60-minute session is designed for people who will be scheduling but not necessarily hosting Zoom Meetings, and will be limited to 10 participants.  It covers everything that happens before a Zoom Meeting begins including: scheduling, creating polls, email invitations, recording, and Zoom Personal Audio Conference (Wisline replacement).

Zoom Meetings Training

Let’s be honest, nobody wants to be talked at. This 60-minute session is designed for people who will be educating or presenting using Zoom Meetings, and will be limited to 10 participants.  It covers how to smoothly run a Zoom Meeting, engage your audience, and utilize a few of the cooler Zoom Tools including: Breakout rooms, polling, annotation, and screen sharing.

Zoom Webinars Training

Get your corduroy coat with leather elbow patches! This 60-minute session is designed for people who will be hosting and presenting via Zoom Webinars. This session will be required in order to host a webinar and will be limited to 5 people.  It will cover the finer point of Zoom Webinars including: procuring and planning a webinar, and a day-of presentation checklist, and post-production tasks. If you are requesting a webinar you will need to take this training first.
