Dairy Judging Practices – Canceled Dates

Hello Dairy Members, Parents, Leaders, Advisors, and Mentors,

As you may be aware, in an abundance of caution, all Wisconsin 4-H in-person activities, including project meetings, have been suspended at least through April 10. Due to the ongoing preventative measures regarding COVID-19, the first three dairy judging practices have been canceled. These three canceled practices include:

  • Sunday, March 29
  • Sunday, April 5
  • Tuesday, April 14

Since these practices are canceled, we are asking dairy members to review the attached Parts of the Cow Quiz, PowerPoint, and videos before our first on-farm face-to-face practice on Sunday, April 19 at Kampy Holsteins. Below are the video links we are asking members to watch and review before our first on-farm, face-to-face, practice on Sunday, April 19 at Kampy Holsteins:

As of now, we are tentatively proceeding with face-to-face dairy judging practices. The tentative upcoming on-farm, face-to-face, practices include:

  • Sunday, April 19 – Kampy Holsteins, 1 pm
  • Sunday, April 26
  • Sunday, May 3
  • Sunday, May 17
  • Sunday, May 24
  • Sunday, May 31 – Chris Le Acres, 1 pm
  • Sunday, June 7

In addition, the dairy judging contest is Thursday, June 11 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.

As you may be aware, Extension along with the UW-Madison community and our county has been keeping a close eye on developments around COVID-19. The COVID-19 situation and guidance for the Extension Office has been changing on an hourly basis.

Please contact our dairy judging coaches below, if you have any specific questions. We thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through this situation together.
