Save the date for Saturday, January 2, 10 am to 12 noon at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds for the Market Beef Initial Weigh-in and Identification. For the beef weigh-in, all steers must be castrated by excisional or banding (crimping will not be allowed) and done two months prior to the initial weigh-in. Animals must be fully healed and have no physical sign of testicles at the initial weigh-in. If there is any question at time of initial weigh-in regarding the castration of an animal, the exhibitor has the option to request a veterinarian’s opinion (at the exhibitor’s cost) regarding castration before the animal leaves the grounds.
