Rescheduled Market Lamb & Meat Goat Weigh-in

2018 Fond du Lac County Fair
Rescheduled Market Lamb & Meat Goat Weigh-in
Monday, April 30, 5 pm to 7 pm
Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.

The recently cancelled Fond du Lac County Market Lamb & Meat Goat Weigh-in has been rescheduled.  All market lambs and market goats for the 2018 County Fair will be identified and weighed in at the Fairgrounds on Monday, April 30, between 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

There is no maximum weight limit for lambs or goats at the initial weigh-in.  A maximum of five lambs and five goats can be weighed-in per exhibitor, however only one goat and two lambs (one market ewe and one market wether) can be exhibited in the Market Show.

All market lambs and market goats will be tagged at weigh-in.  Scrapie tag will be used as a secondary form of identification.  If an animal loses one tag, the MLC needs to be contacted to re-tag the animal.  If an animal loses both tags, the animal will be disqualified from the competition.

Upon the time of initial weigh-in, all male animals must be castrated by excisional or banding methods.  Animals must be healed and no physical sign of viable testicles at the initial weigh-in.  All goats must be disbudded or dehorned.  If a scur occurs, it must be kept to two inches or less with a blunt end.

The initial weigh-in form will be available at the initial weigh-in and will be a triplicate form which will serve as an original copy for the Market Livestock Committee and as a copy/receipt for your records.
