Jeff Swenson will be joining as April’s guest speaker talking about direct marketing options for Wisconsin producers. Jeff joined DATCP in November 2006 as an Economic Development Consultant specializing in livestock and meat in the Department’s Division of Agricultural Development. The division assists farmers and ag businesses to find ways to add value to their farm production, modernize and expand. His primary responsibilities are working with beef, pork and sheep producers as well as Wisconsin’s meat processing facilities. He is directly involved with outreach to Wisconsin’s livestock associations and agribusiness groups. His past experience includes working for Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, Semex Beef and the Sitel Corporation. Jeff grew up on a beef and dairy farm in southeast Minnesota. He has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The University of Wisconsin Animal Sciences Department and the Division of Extension will be hosting a small ruminant webinar series on April 15, 2020 related to Small Ruminant Grazing. The program will start at 7:30 p.m. and end by 9 p.m. CST. These meetings can be taken from your home using a computer, a phone, or using Zoom technology. Zoom meetings allow for more natural interaction between the presenters and participants and provide an opportunity to ask questions and have a discussion with other online users.
