November 17 is World Prematurity Day
Did you know that prematurity is the leading cause of newborn death? Those who survive can face lifelong problems such as respiratory, intellectual, hearing, vision and digestive problems.
There are things that women can do to improve their health, lower the risk of having a premature baby, and help their baby be healthy.
- See Your Health Care Provider Before Pregnancy
- Quit Smoking
- Avoid alcohol and drugs
- Get early and regular prenatal care
- Eat a healthy diet
