Wisconsin is home to many lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands. Local governments can play an important role in helping to protect and manage these important water resources. This program highlights the importance of protecting wetlands and reviews a model wetland conservation ordinance and other educational efforts developed by the Wisconsin Wetlands Association. In addition to wetlands, the program provides an overview of recent changes to the State’s shoreland zoning program and the impact of those changes on local programs.
