Back-to-school bustle and other autumn responsibilities can make it challenging to carve out time for family fun sometimes, but Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center offers a chance for families to unplug from the web and connect with each other amid the demands of a busy fall. At the Autumn Family Camp, October 19-21, you can have a weekend full of adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both! And families who register by September 20 can take advantage of an early bird registration fee of $60 per person (children 4 and under still free). Campers of any age are welcome!
Weekend activities available at Family Camp include archery, fishing, canoeing and kayaking on the Wisconsin River, hiking, rock climbing at Devil’s Lake State Park and more. Many outdoor activities are weather-dependent, but there are plenty of indoor activities, too. Each night at camp is closed with community events like night hikes, live raptor presentations and campfires.
The Family Camp experience includes meals, program supplies and lodging. Both cabins and dorm-style housing are available at Upham Woods. Family-style meals are served in the dining room, and the talented and energetic staff at Upham Woods is on hand all weekend to help with whatever you might need. Registration for Autumn Family Camp is due October 4, 2012, but the early bird discount is only available through September 20. Standard registration fees are $85 for campers ages 5-12 and $105 for campers ages 13 and up. Children 4 years and under are free.
