In Memoriam

Sid dedicated his career to 4-H Youth Development in Polk County. He was fabulous with 4-H youth and loved his job. He was always energetic and positive. He was always there, helping anytime something was needed. He was instrumental in getting many programs started including 4-H camp, interstate exchanges, IFYE, and judging contests. He built a strong junior leader program. Today, many of his members are 4-H leaders.

Sid was active in the Youth Development profession. In 1966 he served as President of the Wisconsin Association of Extension 4-H Agents, received the Distinguished Service Award in 1974 and received the National American Spirit Award in 1986.

After retirement, Sid served on the Amery School Board, Amery City Council, CESA Board, and the Polk County Fair Society Board of Directors. Sid brought his solid wisdom to the Fair Board helping it grow and transition during difficult situations. Sid was a member of the Amery American Legion Post and a volunteer at Golden Age Nursing Home.
