Roland CavilRoland “Rollie” Cavil

Brown County 4-H Volunteer

In Memoriam

Rollie has always been involved with 4-H. He was a 4-H member in DePere, participating in the dairy project. When his girls were 4-H members, he bought them registered Holsteins as their 4-H project. He was a club leader in dairy and gardening.

He was active with the Brown County 4-H Leaders Association and worked fundraisers at the Resch Center and Celebrate DePere Festival. He ran the 4-H food stand fryer and filled in any shift as needed. Older youth in the county gave him the Master Griller Award.

He stayed involved with 4-H even after his three daughters aged out of the program and saw his grandchildren through 4-H. He was a leader in Hilltopper 4-H club. When that club became too large, he started the Happy Valley 4-H club.

Rollie volunteered at St. Mary’s Parish, was part of the DePere Golden K Club, rang bells for Salvation Army, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Rollie Cavil brought quiet, very strong leadership to 4-H. He was like the Energizer Bunny – who kept on going, always volunteering and never stopping.
