Market Livestock Sheep and Meat Goat Project Identification

Swine, Sheep & Meat Goat Ear Tag Distribution

Wednesday, March 24, 2021 | 3 pm to 6 pm
Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds
  • Exhibitors must self-identify his/her project animal(s) by tagging the animal with an official Fond du Lac County Fair tag, providing photo documentation of both ear tag placement, and completing the animal identification form.
  • A double ear tag system (one Fond du Lac County visual ID, and one a secondary tag) will be used. The visual ID tag is to be placed in one ear of the animal. The scrapie tag or a flock tag will be used as a secondary form of identification.
  • A maximum of five lambs and five goats can be identified per exhibitor, however only up to one meat goat and two market lambs (one market ewe and one market wether) can be exhibited in the Market Show.
  • If an animal loses one tag, the MLC needs to be contacted to re-tag the animal. If an animal loses both tags, the animal will be disqualified from the competition.

Form: The Fond du Lac County Fair Market Sheep and Meat Goat Self-ID Form is now online at bit.ly/fdleartags. Include on the form parents’ name, premise ID, exhibitors’ names and grade, four-digit visual ear tag number, and sex of animal. • There will be no DNA sampling or submission.
