Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Project Orientation Meeting Notes
Here are the slides presented during the Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Project Orientation from March. Meeting credit (1 point) was given to those in attendance and submitted their name via the chat box at the end of the meeting. This meeting was not recorded.
A few changes for 2021 are highlighted in the attachment and include:
- Feeding of ractopamine (Paylean or similar product) in market hogs is prohibited by the Fond du Lac County Fair Board.
- The Fond du Lac County Market Swine Show is a non-terminal show:
- 2nd hogs can return home.
- Exhibitors will be responsible for making their own butchering/processing appoints for the 2nd hog and ship the hog to the appointment themselves. Sale hogs will be shipped by the Market Livestock Project Committee.
- Exhibitors are required to have a negative PRRS test within 90 days of county fair. More information regarding the testing process will be provided later.
At this time we do not have a date for distribution of ear tags for the market hogs, lambs, and goats. Ear tags are currently on back order. Once a date has been established, we will communicate with you via email regarding distribution and when ID information will be due.
