This post is generated from an original LinkedIn post. This is in relation to a project I am working on for a service club of which I am a member. However, the topics at hand and guest entrepreneurs play into Wisconsin and Brown County economic development handily, and I encourage my professional colleagues to attend!
I’ve had the privilege of joining the De Pere Kiwanis Club this year and I’m so excited to share a new event that we are co-hosting with the De Pere Rotary Club. You won’t want to miss this series.
A dynamic new, five part, speaker series titled “Inside Innovation” is presented by Nicolet National Bank. Each instance of this series presents a standout leader or business in Wisconsin and offers a chance for the guest to share how their business practices are innovative to their field or within the region. Instead of a traditional speaker format, Inside Innovation will be conducted in an interview format – a candid conversation where the guest is interviewed by a well-known, local industry professional.
The five-part series includes the following guest interviewees:
- July 18, 2016 | Steve Wrobel, Public Relations (Kwik Trip, Inc.)
- September 19. 2016 | Mark Skogen, CEO (Skogen’s Festival Foods)
- November 21, 2016 | Christine Loose, Director of Lodging (Kohler Co.)
- February 20, 2017 | Tom Kunkel, President (St. Norbert College)
- April 17, 2017 | To be announced
Our kickoff event on July 18th features guest speaker Steve Wrobel from the public relations department of Kwik Trip, Inc. Steve will be interviewed by Kim Flom, Director of Planning and Economic Development for the City of De Pere. The focus of this interview will be on the rapid expansion of Kwik Trip in the greater Green Bay area, the birth of the Kwik Trip Express brand and how Kwik Trip is an innovative player in both the gasoline and convenience store industries.
The guests of this series have all made a significant impact in the Greater Green Bay area through their business innovations. Kwik Trip is opening six new locations in the region in the next year, Skogen’s Festival Foods recently completed their new store operations center in De Pere, Kohler is launching their newest property – Lodge Kohler – in the Green Bay Packers Titletown District, and St. Norbert College has undergone millions in campus renovations, expansions and forged a new campus partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Each event in the Inside Innovation series will be hosted at Legends Brewhouse and Eatery in De Pere, 875 Heritage Road. The event is FREE and open to the public (advance registration required) with attendance limited to the first 100 registrants. Cocktail hour (cash bar) will begin at 5:30 pm and the event will begin promptly at 6 pm (lasting approximately one hour). Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Interested attendees can register for the July event online at: http://bit.ly/28Vylwy. Future registration links will be made available one month prior to the event on Event Brite and are searchable with the event title Inside Innovation.
