UW-Madison Extension continues to respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its impact on our in-person events. We are complying with state and local regulations as well as to ensure the health and wellness of our communities. Here are specifics around how our events are being impacted:

• Extension is following the guidance and action in place from Gov. Evers, state health officials, and our UW-Madison leadership in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Like other groups across the state we are complying with the “safer at home” order and closely monitoring situations in every county as well as statewide.
• Our primary concern is the health of our staff, stakeholders, and neighbors. To prevent the virus from spreading and making more people ill, we are currently halting all-in person events during the “safer at home” order.
• Continuing to provide a connection between Extension knowledge and our neighbors is a driving priority for Extension during the pandemic. Our researchers and educators moved trainings to an online format, they’ve prepared easy-to-use roadmaps for assistance, and more. These events are being captured and shared by Extension on our website https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/covid19.
• As of now, all Extension in-person events are postponed until June 1. Additionally, large events (those expecting more than 50 attendees) are postponed until July 1. It is likely that both of these dates will need to be extended in the coming weeks.
• We will continue to monitor the virus situation and work with local and state leaders on safety precautions and guidelines for resuming in-person events. Extension will also follow local decisions regarding restrictions.
