With spring creeping closer (sort of) pesticide applicators who apply to landscapes need to remember to check the “Landscape Registry.” The Landscape Registry is run by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). Commercial for-hire applicators must check this list before making an application to a landscape and notify people on the list before making a pesticide application nearby. Remember, you are a “for-hire” applicator if you get paid to apply pesticides on property you or your employer do not own or control.
For a more thorough explanation of a “landscape,” the registry, and how to use it, see the newsletter article from February 2019.
