Commercial – Training Materials
The UW PAT Program offers different learning methods. However, since demonstrating the ability to read and follow instructions on the pesticide label is required by law, reading will always be a part of this process.
Purchasing the training materials is required for certification and recertification. Each applicator must have their own training materials. A PAT number is assigned to each training item. The applicator must provide this PAT number to the testing authority take the certification test.
Required Training—Training materials are offered in two or three forms, depending on the category. You can choose any one of the training forms. Below are descriptions of the different forms.
Printed Manual: All categories have a printed manual. Each applicator seeking certification must have their own manual. Manuals all come with a unique PAT number. This number is either sent as an e-ticket to the email address provided in the order (online orders) or on a printed certificate in the first page of your manual (directly inside the front cover). Think of this number as a ticket to test. This PAT number must be presented to the test proctor to receive certification. Manuals can be purchased in our online PAT store or, download the Mail order Form to pay with check. We cannot take orders over the phone. How to order on the PAT Store.
PDF Manual: All categories have an electronic version of the manual as a PDF file. Each applicator seeking certification must have their own manual. Each manual comes with a unique PAT Number. This number is sent in an e-ticket to the email address provided in the order. Think of this number as a ticket to test. This PAT number must then be presented to the test proctor to receive certification. You can purchase PDF manuals at the online PAT Store.
Online Course: We have online courses available in some categories. Online courses come with a PDF copy of the manual (provided in the email e-ticket). Online courses provide audio content and practice quizzes (NOTE, these quizzes are not the exam questions). Online courses will give the applicator 6 months of access to the course from the time of purchase. Each applicator wanting to use the online course must pay their fee and will receive a unique PAT Number. This number is sent in an e-ticket to the email address provided in the order. Think of this number as a ticket to test. This PAT number must then be presented to the test proctor to receive certification. You can purchase online courses at the online PAT Store.
