Advanced Space Camp Academy

Start your engine and begin the countdown!  We are preparing for an incredible journey into the world of Space, STEM, and Robotics.  In January 2019 we will be offering a unique experience for youth to take part in two advanced programs:  Advanced Space Academy and Advanced Robotics Academy at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.  Wisconsin will be taking one team of 16 youth for each of the two Academies.  These opportunities are open to youth grades 10-12 as of January 2019.

Advanced Space Academy explores college and career preparation through an immersive experience in science, technology, engineering and math.  Trainees undergo a variety of astronaut training exercises, engineering challenges, and team building activities, all culminating in an extended duration simulated space mission.  Activities include:  high/low ropes course, simulators, Russian language lessons, SCUBA diving instruction, fighter jet simulators, advanced rocketry, and more!  Youth who participate will earn one credit hour of freshman level general science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in this college accredited program.

Advanced Robotics Academy tests the next generation of engineers, designers and gear heads with real world applications of science, technology, engineering, and math.  Trainees learn advanced concepts in air, land, and sea challenges as teams compete for the Robotics Prime Contract.  Activities include:  building and programming (using Lego EV3 robots) with advanced sensors and data function, learn series and parallel circuitry, binary number system, build underwater robots, and build cutting edge drones.

These academies will be held on January 26-February 2, 2019.  Total cost for all participants is $1550.00 / youth (deposit of $775.00 will be due by October 1, 2018).  The cost includes all travel, meals, lodging, and programming costs.  Youth will travel via coach bus and will stay in the dormitories at Space Camp with the exception of the first nights lodging at a hotel in route to Space Camp.  Registration will be on a first come / first serve basis (only 32 youth total will be chosen for these academies).  Registration will open on August 1 through 4HOnline and close on August 12. There will be a few extra slots available for a wait list for each academy in case of cancellations.
