Started in 1999, the AdvantAge Initiative helps counties, cities, and towns prepare for the growing number of older adults who are “aging in place” while creating livable communities for people of all ages. To this end, the AdvantAge website contains a variety of useful information, include national survey data, examples of “best practice”, fact sheets, presentations, and a list of indicators of aging-friendly communities.
Indiana was the first state to use the AdvantAge Initiative for statewide planning.
