UC Berkeley’s Center for the Advanced Study of Aging Services and Community Strengths host a website on Creating Aging Friendly Communities. You can join a free resource network that includes a weekly online discussion, and interactive, online tools to learn and build capacity for change. It also affords access to the “Collaboration Cafe” where you can interact with others who share in interest in creating aging-friendly environments.
They also provide a 6 page document on Environmental Policy Change: Building Communities to Support Healthy Aging that discusses why environments matter and describes the influence of the social, physical, and built environment on older adult health.
