Saturday Feb 16th – Ski Milwaukee River at Riverside Park
9:30 to 11:30 AM
The Milwaukee River is part of the neighborhood. Experience the joy and challenge of cross country skiing as we appreciate the effects this river has nature in our backyard. We will make stops along our ski route to observe the changes that have occurred in the park overtime and enjoy the beauty of a winter morning. Equipment and basic ski instruction included. If the conditions are not appropriate for skiing, we will hike through the park instead.
Monday Feb 18th – Milwaukee River Snowshoe Hike at Lincoln Park
3:30 to 5:30 PM
Lots of improvements have happened at Lincoln Park recently. Join Urban Ecology Center staff for a snowshoe hike through the hidden corners of this urban park as we search for signs of wildlife and discuss how improvements to the waterways are also improvements for urban wildlife like herons, deer, and frogs! Snowshoes provided, or bring your own. No snow? We will still enjoy a winter walk without snowshoes. Transportation provided from the Urban Ecology Center.
