Sunday, January 26, 2014
Hike 1 PM
Potluck 4:30 PM
Hikers will follow Field Station director, Jim Reinartz out into the middle of the Cedarburg Bog. The group will be able to walk through the otherwise inaccessible string bog and visit Long Lake and Donut Lake. Brave hikers will want to dress warmly with hats, gloves and boots. Depending on conditions, snow shoes or ice cleats may be useful. The Friends have a supply of Grip-ons (ice cleats) in various sizes for sale for $15/pair. No dogs please.
Those who are not interested in hiking are welcome to visit in the Field Station. Chili potluck dinner (vegetarian options will be available) will be served at 4:30 p.m in the Field Station Lab building. FOCB will provide lots of chili and beverages. Bring something to share if you can. It is suggested that If your last name starts with A to M, bring a dessert to share. If your last name starts with N to Z, bring a side dish to share.
