Please, join the Southeastern Wisconsin Watersheds Trust, or Sweet Water, as we host a course at the UWM School of Continuing Education onThursday, March 6.

Phosphorus Compliance Innovations to Improve Water Quality will bring together a number of experts and practitioners to discuss issues directly related to implementing Wisconsin’s alternative options for phosphorus compliance, the Adaptive Management Option and water quality trading.

Our keynote speaker is Mark Kieser, of Kieser & Associates, LLC, who is a national leader in water quality trading programs.  He and his colleague, Jim Klang, will talk about our nation’s experiences with nutrient trading.

Representatives from two different cities here in Wisconsin will present what they have learned in examining the state’s Adaptive Management Option as a means to achieving compliance.  Joseph Britt from the Sand County Foundation will cover the lessons learned by those who have managed agricultural watershed projects with intentions to improve water quality.  Paul Kent, of Stafford Rosenbaum, will provide an overview of a proposed phosphorus bill that has recently been introduced in the Wisconsin legislature.  And there’s more.
