Opportunities for Local Governments to Engage in Wetland Conservation

In the first of four webinars, Kyle Magyera of the Wisconsin Wetlands Association and Becky Roberts of Center for Land Use Education will provide an overview of local government roles and responsibilities in wetland conservation. They will discuss the basic functions and services of wetlands, existing rules and policy options for conserving wetlands, and opportunities to use wetland conservation to address community and watershed problems. Reading the Wetland Landscape Workshop

September 11, 2014, 9:30 am – 5:00pm, $50

Stevens Point, WI

This field-based workshop, aimed at professionals involved in planning, zoning and land conservation, will help you view landscapes through a wetland lens. You will learn how to gather information, site-by-site, on wetland functions, services, condition, and vulnerability.  This is the first of seven workshops that will be planned throughout the state.
