Dairy Judging Practice Update

Hello Dairy Members, Parents, Leaders, Advisors, and Mentors,

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate through this situation together. In light of current public health concerns and guidance from UW-Madison Division of Extension leadership, the 4-H Area Animal Science Days planning committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the regional judging contests for 2020. The planning committee did not come to this decision lightly and ultimately decided it would be unrealistic to make plans to postpone these large events to a later date. Due to the cancellation of the regional dairy judging contests, all Fond du Lac County dairy judging practices have been postponed until further notice.

Currently, the planning committee is committed to moving forward with plans to host the state dairy and livestock contests in late summer. In lieu of regional qualifiers, the planning committee will create a process to safely and intentionally include as many youth participants as possible for these state-wide events. The status of plans for these events will continue to evolve as the planning committee receives more information and guidance from UW-Madison leadership based on the changing state and national public health situation.
