
Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics – OnTheMap
The Census Bureau’s OnTheMap application can be used to answer fundamental questions about the relationship between where people live and where they work. The tool uses Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) data to analyze workforce, commuting, and economic development patterns at levels of geography down to the census block.

Intermediate. Many different analyses are available here. Some expertise with workforce, job, and industry characteristics will be helpful.
Sample questions:
What is the size of the private-sector labor force in a given county? What percentage of a given county’s workforce commutes from outside of the county? What is the educational attainment of the workforce employed in a given county’s fastest-growing industries?
