This program is consists of five instructional workshops held in various communities around the state. Participants receive a total of fifteen hours of specific instruction, facilitate group discussion, internet demonstrations and guest presentations.
 
The goals of this program are to:

  1. Introduce the concepts of determining business feasibility, conducting market analysis and basic business planning methods.
  2. Facilitate awareness of state and federal laws concerning business formation, taxation, labor issues and special licensing requirements.
  3. Teach the basic business financial statements, calculate various ratios that determine business health and apply management practices that improve business performance.
  4. Facilitate discussion of standard lending criteria, investor networks and financing programs available from local, state and federal sources.
  5. Provide a framework to use in creating or updating a business plan.
