Organic Processing Requirements and Certification

The Organic Processing Institute will be holding a workshop on Feb. 11th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the West Madison Ag Research Station, 8502 Mineral Point Rd., Verona, WI, 53593 (SW side of Madison); or attend online. See the registration form for more details.

The Instructors will be:

  • Michelle Menken, Organic Communications Coordinator, Minnesota Crop Improvement Association
  • Steve Walker, Processing Certification Manager and Compliance Manager, Midwest Organic Services Association

The session will give insights into organic regulations that apply to processing activities, from washing and packaging produce, to milling grains, to multi-ingredient processing. In addition, there will be time for one-on-one interaction with the instructors, where you can ask specific questions of these instructors, representing two regional organic certifying agencies, about your organic certification needs.
