In 2004, overnight visitors spent more than 39 million nights in Wisconsin. The majority of these stayed with family and friends, closely followed by hotels, motels, resorts, or bed-and-breakfasts.

Across WIsconsin, summer is the peak season for visitors.

According to a recent study by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, visitor spending in Dane County ranked second in the state in 2004.
