Private Pesticide Applicator Certification

We made some changes and added new options to this year’s program to help keep our communities safer.

MANUALS:

  1. Manuals are $30 and available through the following options:
    1. Online at https://patstore.wisc.edu
    2. Mail-order form at https://go.wisc.edu/patbook and send it with a check.
    3. In-person at the Fond du Lac Extension office. Call for availability. Masks are required.

TRAINING: 

  1. Extension will not conduct in-person Private Pesticide Applicator Training sessions this winter.
  2. Online training will be available in monthly sessions, December 2020 through May 2021.

    2. Training is $10.00
    3. 14-day window to complete training in one sitting
    4. Plan for 3.5 hours with breaks built into training
    5. Completion receipt is required for the “attended training” 50% pass rate.
  3. Farmers without online access must take the self-study option, requiring a 70% pass rate.

TESTING:

  1. Online:An online test will be available beginning in December with the online trainings.

  2. In-person: Extension Fond du Lac County will offer in-person testing only for individuals that don’t have online access. Call for availability and additional requirements. Walk-in testing is NOT available.
  3. Commercial: DATCP offers a closed-book commercial certification test.
