2022 Private Pesticide Applicator In-Person Training

Extension Fond du Lac County will be offering an in-person Private Pesticide Applicator Training on

Tuesday, March 8, 2022
UW-O Fond du Lac Campus, Room UC-113/114

Registration begins at 8:30 am and the training session is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, which includes time for testing. Lunch is not included for this session; however, you will be offered time to take a lunch break.

The registration fee is $30 and includes the General Farming training manual. The fee must be paid when you pick up your manual at the FDL County Extension Office. Cash and check are accepted. Credit card payments include an additional convenience fee. Please register at https://bit.ly/fdlpattraining.

If you are unable to attend, other in-person training options are offered in our area. Please contact our office for information. Online training options are also available. The exam is not included in the online training; more details are available at https://patstore.wisc.edu.

If you attend an online training session or choose the self-study option, you are still required to take an in-person test. The same open-book, written examination is administered for both options. Passing exam scores are:

  • In-Person & Online Training     50%
  • Self-Study                                 70%

Fond du Lac County is offering in-person exam sessions at the UWO Fond du Lac Campus on the second Tuesday of the month from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Seating is limited, and registration is required by 12:00 pm the day before each session. Walk-ins are not accepted. Register at http://bit.ly/fdlpattesting for one of the following dates:

  • January 11, 2022
  • February 8, 2022
  • April 12, 2022

Do you need to be certified?
You must be certified if you apply, mix, and load, or direct the use of:

  • Restricted-use pesticides (RUPs)
  • Any pesticide on a for-hire basis
  • Any pesticide in or on public schools or school grounds (K-12 public schools)
  • Any pesticide in aquatic environments (may also be a requirement of permit)

You also must be certified if you:

  • Conduct pesticide-safety training for agricultural workers or pesticide handlers as required under the Worker Protection Standard (WPS)
