We just received word that Carl Duley, agriculture educator for Buffalo County passed away Wednesday, October 4. His family is planning a celebration of life in the days to follow. We will keep you informed.
Carl was an agriculture educator in Buffalo County for over 35 years and just started his 38th year with Extension this summer. In addition to an active research and teaching program, he worked hard to train future agriculturalists through the many interns he hired over the years. Carl was a dedicated public servant with a lifetime of volunteer work for numerous causes. He was actively involved in all aspects of his community from organizing Red Cross blood collections, to coaching the local girls’ volleyball team. Carl believed it was essential to give back to the community you live in. Even after he was diagnosed with ALS, Carl and his family worked hard to help the broader community understand ALS.
Carl continued his public service through his diagnosis, keeping his passions going to benefit those around him. He cared deeply about his work and his community, combining the two to have a true impact on everyone who knew him. A generous and giving man to the very end, Carl was an organ donor. Donating to people in need of this life-giving gift. He will be missed.
