The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension Community Economic Development Program supports research, technical support, educational programs, and innovative practice across a variety of topics toward economic well-being and quality of life in Wisconsin communities.

Dane County Economic Development: Dane County partners with the Madison Region Economic Partnership to support economic development in Dane County. Dane County’s CDBG revolving loan fund and micro business loan program provide gap financing for eligible businesses and organizations that provide jobs for low- and moderate-income persons. The County Economic Development Unit manages the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and the Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME), providing grants and financial assistance for housing and community developkment activities that benefit low- and moderate-income residents of Dane County outside of Madison.

The Madison Region Economic Partnership (MadREP) is the economic development agency for the eight-county Madison Region (Columbia, Dane,Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock, & Sauk Counties). Their website provides data, information on business funding, sites and building locator, and workforce development information.
