Dane County Farmland Rent Survey

Dane County UW-Extension conducted a survey of Dane county land owners and farmers to collect information on the land rents that were paid on a township level in the county.

Leasing Farmland

  • Ag Lease 101 Website – Sample lease contracts, fixed and flexible rents, crop share rental agreements, and resources on leasing pasture and beef cows.
  • Determining Pasture Rental Rates (PDF, 163KB) – a fact sheet developed by the Dane County Dairy & Livestock Agent
  • Landowner statement(PDF, 27KB) – form for operator stating cash lease agreement is in place with landowner.  This form is accepted by the Farm Service Agency as evidence of a rental agreement.  However, it is not a legally binding lease.
