AEMTV 2.0

Achieving the Extension Mission Through Volunteers (AEMTV) walks Extension professionals through the introduction to best practices of working with volunteers. AEMTV 2.0 takes those concepts discussed in the original course and dives deeper into specific areas. AEMTV 2.0 course content varies each year based on the needs of Extension professionals.

Identifying When and How to Have Challenging Conversations with Volunteers

Offered in: 2023, 2025
Description: This short, one-week professional development opportunity builds upon the concepts and resources presented during Module 5:Coaching of the original Achieving the Extension Mission course. This training is intended to equip staff to identify when and to have challenging conversations with volunteers. 

Data Driven Volunteer Identification

Offered in: 2024
Description: This short, two week professional development opportunity builds upon the concepts and resources presented during the original Achieving the Extension Mission Course. This training is intended to equip staff to use high quality data to achieve outreach and volunteer retention goals.

Working with Volunteer Boards

Offered in: 2025

Description: In this three week course, participants will increase their confidence in working with boards by: 

  • Identifying recommended practices for building relationships and enhancing facilitation skills
  • Understanding and applying a chain of command/organization chart/map of visual representation of hierarchy and decision/policy implementation  
  • Developing role descriptions for board members and board leadership positions 
  • Creating a board orientation plan/process 
  • Strategizing strong board meetings and agendas 
  • Making board decisions (parliamentary procedure, consensus building,etc.) 
  • Applying and receiving feedback from the resources you have developed

Building/Strengthening/Developing Volunteer Systems

Offered in: 2026

Description: Deep dive into volunteer systems health and application of ISOTURE process. Reflect on current practice and application with your local system and strengthen your system through intentional planning. Apply different focus areas such as diverse audiences, community changes, engagement level (short-term, content specific, event, etc.), and generational engagement.
