As a reminder, the Kewaunee County Fair Board requires all youth exhibiting junior beef, dairy, hogs, sheep, poultry, and rabbits to take the YQCA program to show at the fair. You will also need it for the Northeast Youth Livestock Show, State Fair, and other fall shows outside the state. You will need a copy of your completion certificate for each species you show. That means if you show hogs, rabbits, and beef, you need to bring three copies of your certificate to the fair on entry day. Each superintendent will collect one copy per specie.
The course will again be $12 per youth participant. Financial assistance is available for those who request it. If you have a hardship request, please contact Aerica Bjurstrom at aerica.bjurstrom@wisc.edu or call 920-388-7138. Your requests will be kept confidential.
To take the course, please visit: https://yqcaprogram.org/

Swine Project Scholarship Opportunity
The Wisconsin Pork Association is offering $100 youth pig project scholarships to assist youth with their 4-H or FFA pig projects. The program encourages youth to become involved in the Wisconsin pork industry, provides opportunities to develop life skills, and exposes youth to the many career paths available within the industry.
4-H and FFA youth are eligible to apply for this scholarship used to offset costs associated with their 2023 pig project. Scholarships will be awarded in three age divisions: Ages 9-12, 13-15, and 16-19 (as of January 1, 2023). Through the support of our sponsors our goal is to raise enough funds to provide up to 50 youth with scholarships. Additionally, the WPA matches the funds provided by pork producers and Wisconsin residents for the program.

Project List Update on 4-H Online
After a call from one of our leaders asking about a specific project, we did a little research on 4-H Online, and found that 90 projects had not been added in to our club offerings. We put together this listing so you can read through it and see if you would like any of these projects added. Some of them include Shooting Sports such as Air Pistol and Rifle, Horseless Horse, Goat, many Poultry choices, and much more. Please take a look and contact us at the 4-H office (920-388-7141 or 920-388-7185) if you would like any of these projects added to your enrollment. *Please note – some of these projects may not be included in the fair premium book. Many thanks to Nancy L for alerting us to this issue!
Please see the attached document. Contact us if you are unable to open the PDF. This list is also available to view on our website at https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/kewaunee4h/this-week-in-kewaunee-county/
