Rock County 4-H Dairy Judging Team Results from Area Animal Sciences Days

(Submitted by Jessica Sarbacker)

Fourteen Rock County 4-H Junior Dairy Judging Team members competed in the dairy judging contests at Area Animal Science Days held at the Iowa County Fairgrounds in Mineral Point on Friday, June 16.

The top Rock County 4-H Junior Team placed second in the contest! That team included Gracin Speich, Bryce Skemp, Kennedy Paul and Madison Sarbacker. A second-place finish means that Rock County 4-H will be represented at the state competition on July 17 in Beaver Dam. Gracin Speich was second overall individual, and Bryce Skemp was eighth.

Other juniors participating in the contest were Emily Barlass, Sophia Barlass, Blake Barlass, Aiden Hodge, Lilly Norton, Melanie Sarbacker, McKinley Skemp, Chesney Speich, Vera Tews and Benny Uhe.

Kayla Trustem and Mallory Nifong participated in the dairy showmanship competition, with Kayla receiving a top recognition award.

The judging teams are grateful to the farms in Rock County and the surrounding areas that open their barn doors for practice. We are lucky to have such a supportive dairy industry and are looking forward to competing at the state contest!

Jessica Sarbacker has graciously agreed to help with team communications and administrative functions, so most emails related to dairy judging will be coming from Jessica. Please make sure to add her email address to your contacts. JSarbacker@lakeridge.bank.  Thank you, Jessica!
