AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects over 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, health, and homeland security. AmeriCorps’ members serve with more than 2,000 non-profits, public agencies, and community organizations.
In Rock County we will
- Involve families in community events, educational workshops and celebrations like Juntos and Better Together
- Create engaging activities that are hands on and fun (Learn More about Wisconsin 4-H)
- Make connections with the community and its resources
If you think you’d have fun and grow as a professional, write a cover letter explaining ‘why’ to Erin (erin.conway@wisc.edu) or complete application 119834 before March 12, 2024. Service (450 hours) begins May 20-June 2, 2024.
When you serve: Our AmeriCorps members will serve Rock County in summer of 2024. Upon completion of their service, members receive a partial Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay for college, graduate school, or to pay back qualified student loans. Members receive a modest annual living allowance. Our members will also have access to learning and networking opportunities through UW-Madison and Division of Extension.
