Community Educational Opportunity

Did you know that there were 10 Indian Boarding Schools in Wisconsin and more than 350 across the United States? Join us in HPL’s Program Room for a presentation about the schools in Wisconsin and the United States and the legacy that still lives on because of them.  Positive Youth Development in Rock County is proud to add Youth Call to Action steps at each month’s program.  Our 4-H families and leaders know, appreciate and advocate for the value of youth leadership.

Presented by Melinda Young, Healing and Wellness Administrator for the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians; in partnership with the Allies of Native Nations (a subcommittee of the Diversity Action Team of Rock County), the YWCA of Rock County, the Beloit NAACP Branch #3251, Hedberg Public Library, UW-Madison, Division of Extension Rock County, Social Justice Edgerton, and Janesville League of Women Voters.
