All 4-H members keep record books describing their involvement  in 4-H projects and activities each year.  Record books are required of all 4-H members in all grades in order to achieve.

“Members in grades 12 and 13 are permitted to write an essay of no less than 300 words describing their personal growth throughout their years in 4-H and how they anticipate their 4-H experience helping them in the future.  The essay will replace the record book, but either an essay OR a record book MUST be submitted by all members in grade 12 and 13 in order to achieve.”  (Rock County 4-H Policy)
