Upham Woods Comes to You!

From mini donuts to carnival rides to animal exhibits, there is something for everyone to do at the county fair. And this year there was an extra special appearance by Beauty, our Red-Tailed Hawk! The Sauk County fair ran July 11-17 and Beauty made 3 appearances to teach community members about raptor adaptations and raptor conservation. Fair-goers loved learning about beauty and asked great questions related to her lifespan and her favorite things to eat!

Outside of the fair, Upham Woods staff members have been making rounds at local libraries including the Kilbourn Public Library in Wisconsin Dells and Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library in Baraboo. Youth in 4K to 5th grade have enjoyed learning about 18th-century French Voyageurs and about the wacky water critters that live in local rivers.

More information on having Upham Woods come to you can be found on our outreach page.
