Feb-March 2025: Forest Friends Early Childhood Nature Club

Join Felix the Fox and our wonderful outdoor educators for a series of four adventures at Upham Woods! 

What: Preschoolers and their grownups will discover shapes, colors, letters, and numbers in nature! A parent or guardian must accompany all participants each week for outdoor and indoor fun. 

Activities:  

  • Explore the forest guided by our friendly fox puppet and caring outdoor educators 
  • Practice shapes, colors, numbers and letters 
  • Meet new friends: other kids & caregivers, animal puppets, and our live educational turtles! 
  • Create a project to take home each week 

Who:  Ages 3-4 (on the day of the event) accompanied by a parent or guardian 

When: 10 – 11 AM on the following Wednesdays in 2025:  

  • February 26 
  • March 5 
  • March 12 
  • March 19 

Where: Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center, N194 County Rd N, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965 

Cost: $40.00 per child for the 4-week series. No extra charge for accompanying adult(s). One adult may accompany up to two registered children ages 3-4. 

Registration Deadline: February 3, 2025  

What to bring from home: Warm clothes and water bottles! Both children & adults should come dressed for the weather that day. We will be spending at least the first 30 minutes outdoors, with some indoor time at the end of each adventure. Snow boots, snow pants (or warm layers), snow gloves, winter hat, warm winter coat and a scarf are recommended.  

Accessibility notes: Activities involve walking up to 0.4 miles on uneven trails through the forest and next to the WI River, with multiple engaging rest stops along the way.
